Information for Guest Panelists

Please read the following information before coming to the studio.  It will help you better prepare yourself in terms of comfort level, how to dress, and more.  Please click here for a map of our studio.

1. Act Calm and Relaxed when in front of the cameras. Do not speak too loud or too soft. Speak clearly and concise. Do not speak too fast or too slow. Just speak normally.

2. Try to AVOID wearing the colors of white or red, because white gets “blown-out” and red “bleeds” on video. You should also try to avoid wearing clothes which have lines, patterns or excessive designs on them. It is best to wear solid colors, such as green, blue, brown, or grey.  Since our background is black, try to wear “light” colors to stand out from the background (i.e. Do not wear black or very dark colors)

3. When speaking, do not look at the cameras. Since our show is a “discussion” format, you should look at the host or the other guests when speaking. Only if you really want to make a specific point, which you want to make clear to the viewing audience, should you look directly into a camera. Otherwise, try to pretend the cameras are not there!

4. This is a “discussion” talk show, so feel free to speak whenever you wish. Don’t feel shy to interrupt or “but-in” when someone is saying something you disagree with or don’t like. Even if someone is saying something you do agree with, you should add on and continue their train of thought in more detail. The show is more enjoyable to watch (and participate in) when people are discussing a subject, and not just listening to one or two people speak.

5. Please try to prepare as much as you can before the shoot. Research the questions/topics you were assigned. If you have any problems or would like to change your questions, please do not hesitate to call or email us for help.

6. Please show up on time for the shoot. Even though the show is only 30 minutes long, it may take longer to record, since we take breaks and sometimes redo shots due to technical problems. Please allow 2 to 3 hours of your time for the shoot.
